What this site keeps, and what it does not.
Short version: no cookies, no advertising trackers, anonymous daily counts only, and the numbers you type into the calculator stay in your browser unless you choose to send the form.
The calculator
The Book Value Calculator does all of its arithmetic in your browser. Your book cost, client values, fees and other figures are not sent to Scribe Media or anyone else. The page may keep them in your browser's session storage so your result is still there if you reload; session storage is cleared when you close the tab.
Counting visits
To know whether the site is useful, it counts events such as "a page was viewed" or "the calculator was started." Each count is stored only as a total per day. No cookie is set, and no IP address, device ID or other identifier is stored with the counts. The numbers you enter are never part of a count.
Links that carry campaign tags
If you arrived from a link with campaign tags in the address (such as utm_source), the site keeps those tags in session storage and sends them with the optional form, so Scribe knows which link brought you. Links from this site to scribemedia.com are tagged to show they came from here.
If you send the form
The form is optional. If you send it, your name, email, optional phone number, the page you sent it from and a short summary of what you entered in the calculator are sent to Scribe Media and stored in Scribe's customer system (HubSpot). Scribe uses them to get in touch with you and as described in the Scribe Media privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Fonts and hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Like any web server, these receive standard request information such as your IP address in order to deliver the page.
